Sweetheart Banquet with Steve and Annie Chapman


Spend Valentine’s with the one you love enjoying the music and ministry of Steve and Annie Chapman. Monday night February 14th at 6:30 it’s the Foothills Christian School Sweetheart Banquet. Feast on a beautiful homestyle meal in a romantic atmosphere followed by a concert from the Chapmans. Mike Shelley Now A BreakPoint Centurion


LANSDOWNE, VA. – Michael Shelley, Bethlehem, Georgia, has completed all requirements for certification and commissioning for the Centurions Program of BreakPoint, the worldview ministry of Prison Fellowship Ministries.

Shelley is now committed to sharing the understanding of Christian worldview with other Christians, sharing biblical truth to those with competing worldviews and applying Christian principles to all of life. He believes it is essential for every Christian to grow in understanding their unique purpose and mission ordained by God. The Centurions Program is an intensive, distance-learning venture that prepares Christians to live out their faith in the world and unites them in a network as agents of transformation from the inside out.

The program was founded by Charles Colson, author, speaker, and founder of BreakPoint and Prison Fellowship. Program participants are trained by leading theologians and Christian worldview thinkers and practitioners. The commissioning ceremony for 2010 Centurions Program participants was held January 17 in Lansdowne, Virginia.

Rev. James I. Piper

1927 ~ 2011

Rev. James Irvin Piper, age 83, of Toccoa, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Stephens County Hospital.

Born October 26, 1927 in Altoona, PA, he was a son of the late Irvin R. and Mary Foreman Piper.

He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and was a retired Minister. Rev. Piper was also a former manager of WRAF, the Toccoa Falls Radio Station.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sybil Taylor Piper in 1984.

Family members include his wife, Miriam Minton Piper, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Priscilla and John Adams of Colorado, Sharon and Trent Thornton of Minnesota, and Sharron and Stephen McClung of Braselton, GA; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at two thirty Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Toccoa First Alliance Church with the Rev. Scott R. Borderud and the Rev. Donald Chapman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6 pm until 8:30 pm Saturday, January 15, 2011.

Memorials may be made to the First Alliance Church or to WRAF Radio Station.
