WRAF Launches Operation Military BibleStick

During the annual Currahee Military Weekend later this month in Toccoa, GA, WRAF is partnering with Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) to support American troops with God's Word in audio through Military BibleSticks. The small, portable, digital audio players were designed by FCBH in 2008 to meet military specifications for use on deployment.

WRAF, a radio ministry of Toccoa Falls College, will promote the Military BibleStick during an on air fundraising campaign Friday September 30. The goal is to raise enough money to sponsor over 300 BibleSticks that will be made available through the chaplains to encourage the men and women serving in America's armed forces.

"We are truly excited about partnering with Faith Comes By Hearing by providing Military BibleSticks to the many service men and women who need to be encouraged and strengthen spiritually," states Mike Shelley, assistant station manage and host of The Morning Show. "What better gift could we give to our military?"

FCBH continues to look to Christian radio as a partner to inform the public about the overwhelming demand for Military BibleSticks from chaplains and troops. The ministry is currently working to eliminate a backorder of more than 12,000 requests. "Stations like WRAF, and others across the nation, are truly a blessing to our troops and continue to be
faithful to meet our call for their help," says Marine veteran Jon Wilke, spokesman for the Military BibleStick project.

Faith Comes By Hearing initiated their military outreach in 2008 and has provided more than 100,000 BibleSticks to troops through nearly 700 members of the U.S. Armed Forces' chaplaincy corps.
