Stephens County Foundation will be sponsoring a seasonal spring hike at the Estatoe Heritage Site along the Tugaloo Corridor on Saturday, April 24th. The public is invited to join local naturalist Jim Sullivan for a nature walk through the forests and wetland edges at the Tugaloo Corridor Estatoe Heritage Site. The hike will focus on the spring wildflowers and their habitats. We’ll also discuss the exotic/invasive plant issues the property is facing.
Interested walkers and nature buffs meet at the Estatoe Heritage Property on Yonah Dam Road, 2.1 miles from Prather Bridge Road at 9:00 am. Participants should bring a packed lunch and drink. Long pants and stout shoes should be worn as poison ivy may be encountered. There are no restroom facilities presently available at the site.
