WRAF Church of the Week - November 24, 2008

LifePoint Church of Greenville, SC is the latest WRAF "Church of the Week."



Congratulations to Pastor Phil Pike and the entire congregation of LifePoint.


Linda nominated the church and shared the following: "Our church is a little over 5 years old. We are a very small, but loving church that seeks to know God and to make Him known not only in our community, but to those in other parts of the world.


We are attempting to reach our local community by each member of the body reaching out to his/her neighbors and those that we come into contact with, with love, caring and sharing Christ.

We are attempting to reach those in other parts of the world through our Lifepoint website.

We have been taught that it is not just the pastor's responsibility to minister, but it is also the responsibility of each member in the body of Christ, and what a joy it is to do just that. Phil Pike is our pastor; he has a great heart for the Lord. Phil initially created our website. We have since had two men to join our church family whom God had gifted in the area of computer technology etc. They have tweaked our website enabling us to reach thousands of people in other countries with the message of God's love and salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.


Even though we are small, we are planning a missions trip next year to minister face to face with people in other parts of the world. We also had the priviledge of sending over 100 study Bibles to some of our soldiers in Iraq.


Last year, before winter set in, we had the priviledge of giving out over 300 blankets to the homeless. Also, last year during the spring and summer months we held monthly picnics with the hopes of reaching out to paper in the park by way of giving out free bottled water and having fun games that they could join in on. Our efforts there was to forge relationships so that we could share Christ with those that did not know him. I am reminded of the widow that gave all she had to the Lord.


Though we are a small church, we at Lifepoint desire to give all we have to be used as vessels of honor for his kingdom. Thank you for this opportunity to share how God is using this small body for his glory."
